Nigeria Economy: Growth vs Development.

Nigeria is the acclaimed giant of of Africa and, it is right to establish that as far as economic activities are concerned, the south are the brain but power reside in the North for obvious reasons that is still keeping Nigeria under developed. Nigeria is the number one Country in Africa by population and economy growth but, truth is that in development, we are low because we like LIES. That is by the way.

In health sector, Nigeria is 11th in Africa. You remember doctors on strike, leaving Nigeria to practice abroad. While people die in thousands because we lack health care (See https://www.scimagoir.com/rankings.php?country=Africa&sector=Health).

In education sector, Nigeria is not found in the top ten African countries with best education sector (See https://egscholars.com/2021/12/21/top-10-african-countries-with-the-best-education-system/). At least for over two months, University has been on strike, and people are raising ₦400million in 2hrs for a Presidential bid of one candidate but, can't raise ₦100million in 2months and settle with ASUU.
And some are many in power are at war for Aso Rock Seat.
Ndị ekwensu!

Best infrastructure in Africa, Nigeria is in 24th position. Politicians are still campaigning with good roads and electricity for more than sixty years (60yrs).(https://www.statista.com/statistics/1198287/africa-infrastructure-development-index-by-country/).

In technology, Nigeria is third (See https://www.schooldrillers.com/countries-with-best-technology-in-africa/). Thank God for Lagos. Abuja couldn't be the technology hub of Nigeria because, all eyes on Aso Rock and oil money, while the gold money are for sacred cows.

Let me take a cup of water to calm my boil.

Welcome back. Thank you for your time.

For those shouting and celebrating Nigeria's GDP as number 1 in Africa, biko, understand that economic growth and economic development are not the same. If economic growth is high and the economic development is LOW, it is a show of open fraud with impunity.

Economic growth shows that the Country is generating and spending income but, economic development shows the relevance, impact, sustainability of the economy.

Economic growth means an increase in real national income / national output, while economic development means an improvement in the quality of life and living standards, e.g. measures of literacy, life-expectancy, security, infrastructure, industry, technology and health care etc.

Measure the economic development with the growth and see if we are defraud, frozen and wasting in this Country.

That is why, someone that is termed a moron in Nigeria will make success in career, immediately he/she leaves Nigeria. While the best in Nigeria, struggles for daily bread. This has increased the level of insecurity and society unrest. During the COVID-19, Lecturer were hawking snacks for daily meal and palliatives were wasting in warehouses.
Instead of people to shout out the evil, they protected it. One said, he was waiting for his birthday to share palliatives before the warehouses were whistled and broken.

My heart breaks as I write in tears. Nigeria politicians, are you devils?

😭😭😭😭😭😭 To be continued...
Let me stop here, unu anwụchulooo.
Chukwu gbaa anyị dum ume ma, zọpụta anyị.

Yours sincerely,
Onyeozi Kelvin Alisi,
